ADVICE FOR USE

Surface preparation

The surfaces must be compact, clean, free of dust, crumbly parts and anything else that may compromise good adhesion. Remove all loose and friable material. Before applying MALTA BASTARDA B1 it is necessary to proceed with the partial saturation of the support with water. The excess free water must be allowed to evaporate.

Mixing

In case of machine application, MALTA BASTARDA B1 is worked with plastering machines such as PTF, PUTZMEISTER, TURBOSOL or similar. Pour the powder into the hopper, start the mixer and adjust the flow of water to obtain the desired consistency. After mixing with water, the mortar must be applied within two hours. For the manual application, pour about 3.5 liters of water for each bag in a concrete mixer, activate the cement mixer, gradually add the powder and then mix for 3-4 minutes to obtain a homogeneous plastic mortar. Mixing the product by hand is not recommended.

Application

MALTA BASTARDA B1 is applied in a single layer up to 20 mm thick by spraying from the bottom upwards and then straightens with a straight edge and passes horizontally and vertically until a flat surface is obtained. The surface processing of the plaster (trowel, grating, etc.) is carried out 2 to 4 hours after application depending on the environmental conditions and the type of surface. For thicknesses greater than 20 mm the plaster must be applied in several successive layers, at a distance of at least 24-36 hours, always having the foresight to roughen the previously applicated layer.

Consumption

Consumption varies from 16 kg/m² at 18 kg/m² per cm of thickness.
