KOLABIG

KOLABIG is a deformable cementitious adhesive with no vertical slip and extended open time suitable for bonding ceramic tiles, mosaics and stone material (provided it is moisture-stable). Particularly suitable for large format ceramic and stone slabs. Suitable substrates for the use of KOLABIG are cement screeds as long as they are sufficiently seasoned and dry, walls with civil plaster or cement mortar and walls in cellular concrete blocks (inside). The laying surfaces must be level, compact, clean, free of dust, crumbly parts and anything else that may compromise good adhesion. The cementitious screeds must have a maturation of at least 28 days and the plasters of at least a week per centimeter of thickness. Wet particularly dry and absorbent substrates and even when laying at high temperatures. The supports must be damp but without excess water on the surface.

KOLABIG IS CLASSIFIED C2TE S1 ACCORDING TO THE EUROPEAN STANDARD EN12004.

ADVICE FOR USE

Surface preparation

The surfaces must be compact, clean, free of dust, crumbly parts and anything else that could compromise good adhesion.

Mixing

Pour about 6.0 liters of water into a clean container, add a bag of powder of 20 kg of KOLABIG under mixing and mix with a whip drill for about 3 minutes until obtaining a creamy and spatulable consistency.

Application

Apply a thin layer of KOLABIG using the smooth side of the spatula, spread the adhesive with the notched trowel with teeth of adequate size to allow total coverage of the back of the tile. Install the tiles on fresh and sticky product. Tap the tiles carefully with a special rubber hammer to completely cover the back and adjust the dimensions. Lift a tile to check that the back is completely covered.

Consumption

2-4 kg/m² 6x6 mm notched trowel application for gluing small / medium format ceramics. 4-7 kg/m² spatula application (rounded tooth) for large slabs. Consumption also varies considerably depending on the size of the notched trowel, the type and size of the tile.
